About this experience

From the park entrance on Ruta 7, an easy walk out to the Horcones lagoon with the south wall of Aconcagua ahead — 3,000 metres of rock and hanging ice.

No climbing permit is needed for this stretch, and no altitude to speak of, but the weather turns fast and the wind is constant.

Highlights

  • The south wall of Aconcagua from the valley floor
  • Horcones lagoon and the glacier meltwater
  • Flat walking inside the provincial park
